Our understanding of the origin of the Universe, of its evolution and the physical laws that govern its behavior, as well as on the different states of matter that make up its evolutionary stage, reached in recent years levels never before imagined. This is due mainly to the new and recent discoveries in astronomy and relativistic astrophysics as well as to experiments on particle and nuclear physics that made the traditional boundaries of knowledge on physics to be overcome. As a result we have presently a new understanding about the Universe in its two extreme domains, the very large and the very small: the recognition of the deep connections that exist between quarks and the cosmos.
Based on the understanding of the intimate relationship between quarks and cosmos, the IWARA meetings is focused on the following related topics:
New phenomena and new states of matter in the Universe
General relativity, gravitation and cosmology
White dwarfs, neutron stars, pulsars and black holes
Gamma-ray emission in the Universe, high energy cosmic rays and gravitational waves
Strong magnetic fields in compact stars and in galaxies
Ultra-strong magnetic fields in neutron star mergers
Strange matter, strange stars, quark stars and magnetars
Strong magnetic fields and the cosmic microwave background
Dark matter and dark energy
Antimatter in the Universe, strong magnetic fields in the Universe
Heavy ion collisions and the formation of the quark-gluon plasma

The modelling of the matter interactions at long range is a fertile problem for Mathematics, a major issue in Physics and a challenge for Analysis and Numerical Simulations. The aim of this meeting is to conjugate all these aspects, with a special attention to the simulations, and trying to infuse a stimulating working atmosphere, such as in a workshop, with few key lectures (part of these will be chosen when finalizing the program). The final program will be settled six months prior to the conference.
The foundations of galactic dynamics are based on the association of Boltzmanns collisionless kinetic equation with Poissons equation describing the Newtonian gravitational potential. This combination of equations is also widely used to model the dynamics of Cold Dark Matter (and even a fraction of the visible) in the framework of the standard cosmological model of the Universe.
In plasma physics, the same Boltzmann equation (it transforms into the Vlasov equation) characterizes a system of charged particles moving under Coulomb interaction. However, contrary to gravitation, the Coulomb force repels charged particles of the same sign. The Debye screening process leads, as a first approximation, to a finite range of the effective force between charges. Moreover, magnetic field effects often cannot be neglected in plasmas. These important differences have led the two communities to develop their own separate numerical methods. One of the main goals of the meeting is to bring them together to confront the latest progress.
For instance, new adaptive symplectic techniques have been elaborated in the field of numerical galactic dynamics, whereas plasma physics has witnessed the resurgence of Fourier-Hermite schemes and symplectic model reduction. These developments come along with new physical intuition that begs to be debated.
Furthermore, the analysis of the Vlasov-Poisson system was rejuvenated by Mouhot and Villanis breakthrough, and is the arena for exciting new research, in particular on the coupling with macroscopic charges. Visualisation of results and diagnostics that can be used to assess the accuracy of simulations will also be central to the meeting.

The Chalonge de Vega 20th Paris Cosmology Colloquium 2016:
The Universe of CMB, Warm Dark Matter, Dark Energy and keV Sterile Neutrinos
Place: Historic Perrault building, Observatoire de Paris at Paris
Dates: 20, 21 and 22 July 2016
URL: http://chalonge.obspm.fr/colloque2016.html
So far, not a single valid objection arose against WDM.
A Turning Point operated in the last years in the Dark Matter research: Warm Dark Matter (WDM) emerged impressively over Cold Dark Matter (CDM) as the leading Dark Matter candidate. WDM solves naturally the problems of CDM and CDM + baryons , provides the same large scale and CMB results than ?CDM and agrees with the observations at the galactic and small scales.
Warm Dark Matter (WDM) is hot topic in galaxies and cosmology and implies novelties in the astrophysical, cosmological, particle physics and nuclear physics context. Warm Dark Matter Cosmology (LambdaWDM) is a more complete, correct and general theory than Cold Dark Matter (LambdaCDM) because it contains CDM as a limiting case, reproduces LambdaCDM at large scales and solves all the known problems of CDM at small and intermediate scales.
This Colloquium addresses the last progresses in the LambdaWDM Standard Model of the Universe. with the CMB, dark matter, dark energy, the new WDM framework to galaxy formation, and the effective theory of the early universe inflation with predictive power. The Colloquium addresses as well the theory and experimental search for the WDM particle physics candidates (keV sterile neutrinos). Astrophysical constraints put the sterile neutrino mass m in the range 1 <m < 10 keV.
This Colloquium puts together in an unifying framework, astrophysical, cosmological, particle and nuclear WDM, astronomical observations, theory and WDM analytical and numerical work which reproduce the observations. The Colloquium addresses as well the theoretical and experimental search for the leading WDM particle candidate: keV sterile neutrinos.
The recent impact of WDM astrophysics, its signatures and constraints with high redshift galaxies, cosmic recombinantion, 21 cm line, star formation, with or for the JWST, HST, SKA, X-ray observations and gravitationnal lensing will be treated.
Looking forward to Welcome you in Paris at the Colloquium
