The Conference is devoted to 100 years of Einsteins General Theory of Relativity.
ICGAC-12 is a part of the series of biennial conferences on Gravitation, Astrophysics and Cosmology which takes place in the Asia-Pacific region with the goal to promote cooperation among the member countries and within an international context, to promote high level studies on hot topics and to encourage young physicists on these fields. The first meeting was initiated by Prof. Yong Min Cho, Korea, one of the founders of the APCTP, in 1993.

From astrophysics to high-energy physics, from information theory to quantum gravity, black holes have acquired an ever increasing role in fundamental physics, and are now part of the terminology of many important branches of observational, theoretical and mathematical physics.
The Black Holes Workshops gather researchers working on mathematical and physical problems of gravitation, both in its classical and quantum aspects, as well as on superstrings, cosmology and astrophysics, and stimulate the interaction between them.
The seventh edition of the Black Holes Workshop invites researchers on black holes in all their aspects to participate, and will be held at the University of Aveiro from 18-19 December 2014.

The CoCoNuT code is a general relativistic hydrodynamics code with dynamical spacetime evolution. The aim of this numerical code is the study of several astrophysical scenarios in which general relativity can play an important role, namely the collapse of rapidly rotating stellar cores and the evolution of isolated neutron stars.
The emphasis of the meeting this year shall be put on Numerical Methods. Recent progress and future developments of this field and of the CoCoNuT code shall be discussed, but not exclusively. Possible topics of the meeting are:
· Hyperbolic and elliptic systems. · Magnetohydrodynamics. · Radiation transport. · Turbulence.
The purpose of the CoCoNuT meeting is twofold: on the one hand it is intended as a regular (yearly so far) meeting of the CoCoNuT users, but it also serves as an opportunity to interchange ideas with users of similar numerical codes. Therefore the attendance to the meeting of anyone outside the CoCoNuT community is welcome.

Postdoctoral Position in Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics

The Astronomy Unit (AU) in the School of Physics and Astronomy at Queen Mary University of London has a vacancy for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work in any area of Theoretical Cosmology with members of the Astronomy Unit engaged in research in Cosmology. The group of Relativistic Theoretical Astrophysics invites applications for one postdoctoral position to carry our research in Relativistic and Computational Astrophysics, at Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
The candidates should have a PhD in astrophysics, physics or applied mathematics and research experience with simulations in numerical relativity, relativistic hydrodynamics and MHD. Scientific-computing skills are important, as well as a solid theoretical background in relativistic hydrodynamics and MHD. Candidates with knowledge and experience in modelling the dynamics of binary systems of neutron stars are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Lagrange Institute (Institut Lagrange de Paris, ILP) invites applications from scientists with recent PhDs for several Fellowships beginning in 2015. The Lagrange Fellows will receive a salary according to experience, and generous travel, research, and visitor funds, for 2+1 years.

Relativity and Gravitation100 years after Einstein in Prague, was the name of the conference held in Prague on June 25-29, 2012, inspired by the title, date, and significance of the last of Einsteins Prague papers. The aim of the conference was to review the present status of the general theory of relativity (both classical and quantum) and its applications in cosmology and astrophysics from a broad perspective. The second aim was to present the newest results in each of these fields.
The first volume "General Relativity, Cosmology and Astrophysics--Perspectives 100 years after Einstein's stay in Prague" (J. Bicak and T. Ledvinka eds.) is included in the Springer series Fundamental Theories of Physics, No. 177.
The articles included in this Volume represent a broad and highly qualified view on the present state of general relativity, quantum gravity, and their cosmological and astrophysical implications. As such, it may serve as a valuable source of knowledge and inspiration for experts in these fields, as well as an advanced source of information for young researchers. The contents are divided into four broad parts: (i) Gravity and Prague, (ii) Classical General Relativity, (iii) Cosmology and Quantum Gravity, and (iv) Numerical Relativity and Relativistic Astrophysics. Approaching soon the centenary of Einstein's famous theory, this volume offers a precious overview of the path done by the scientific community in this field in the last century, defining the challenges of the next 100 years.
The second volume "Relativity and Gravitation--100 Years After Einstein in Prague", (J. Bicak and T. Ledvinka eds.) is included in the Springer Proceedings in Physics, No. 157.
This volume includes abstracts of the plenary talks (contained in the first volume) and 82 full texts of contributed talks and articles based on the posters presented at the conference. The Highlights articles are chosen by the Editorial Board as a selection of some of the best work published in the journal, based on criteria of interest, significance and novelty.
The articles span the whole of CQGs subject scope and include focus issue articles and topical reviews in addition to regular papers. All of the Highlights articles are free to download until the end of 2015.
As part of the promotion of the Highlights we produce an annual Highlights brochure which contains further information about journal activity including forthcoming special issues and prize sponsorships.
