It will be hosted by the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali. ICGC is a quadrennial meeting held under the auspices of the Indian Association for General Relativity and Gravitation. This year being the centenary of General Relativity this edition of ICGC assumes special significance. Topics covered at this meeting will include Classical and Quantum Gravity, Numerical Relativity, Gravitational Waves, Cosmic Microwave Background, Dark Matter and Dark Energy, Early Universe and the Large Scale Structure of the Universe, and Relativistic Astrophysics. The Scientific Organizing Committee (SOC) is working on putting together a vibrant scientific program. In addition to hosting a number of plenary talks by invited speakers, we also encourage greater participant involvement via talks and posters contributed to parallel workshops and sessions. It is possible to determine, alternatively, the motions that should arise from the observed distribution of galaxies or the distribution of matter from the observed motions of galaxies. It is a fundamental success of the paradigm that the two methodologies are in general agreement. In recent years there has been significant improvement in our knowledge of both the distribution of galaxies through comprehensive redshift surveys and the deviant motions of galaxies through measurements of distances. These observational advances have stimulated interest in methods of interpretation. The constraints on the distribution of matter and cosmological parameters are becoming increasingly precise. Yet major questions remain. The position is funded by the John Templeton Foundation grant Space and Time after Quantum Gravity. Candidates must be ABD in a PhD program at an accredited university, working on a dissertation in the philosophy of quantum gravity, broadly construed. The fellowship will provide support for the successful candidate to spend a year away from their home institution to work with the projects Geneva group led by Professor Christian Wuthrich, and to benefit from interactions with project members and from participation in the projects activities. The successful candidate will participate in a tutoring program directed by Professor Wuthrich. They will be expected to participate in weekly group meetings during term, help with the administration and organization of the groups activities, and contribute to the groups research and outreach efforts. The fellowship is fixed-term for one year, although we will consider applications for a six-month period. Shapiro is developing the tools of numerical relativity, computational hydrodynamics and computational MHD to tackle diverse problems in general relativity and astrophysics. Recent topics include the inspiral and coalescence of compact binaries (binary black holes, binary neutron stars, binary black hole-neutron stars and binary white dwarf-neutron stars), the generation of gravitational waves, magnetorotational stellar collapse, gas accretion onto black holes and binary black holes, the formation and cosmological growth of supermassive black holes in the early universe, and the dynamics of dark matter halos and spikes around black holes. Some of our work is geared to identifying astrophysically plausible, strong-field sources of gravitational waves and calculating gravitational waveforms for detection by laser interferometers, such as Advanced LIGO/VIRGO, PTA and eLISA. For these ``multimessenger" sources we are also exploring counterpart electromagnetic signals, where the later may include optical, UV and X-ray emission and gamma-ray bursts. Additional Information: http://www.isgrg.org/ A. 2016 Ehlers and Bergmann-Wheeler Thesis Prizes: Nomination deadline 30 September 2015 At GR21 in July 2016, ISGRG will award two thesis prizes. (1) The Juergen Ehlers Thesis Prize is awarded for the best Ph.D. thesis in the areas of mathematical and numerical general relativity. The selection committee is chaired by Prof. Alessandra Buonanno. (2) The Bergmann-Wheeler Thesis Prize is awarded for the best Ph.D. thesis in the broad area encompassing all approaches to quantum gravity. The selection committee is chaired by Prof. Theodore Jacobson. The primary nominator for each prize must be a member of ISGRG although supporting nominators and the candidates need not be members.
